Wait till I cross the finish line...

[Ecclesiastes 7:8] “The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride”

Anyone is capable of starting something but not everyone is capable of finishing what they have started. Many can start to climb Mount Everest today but only the ones who have trained hard, who are diligent and who persevere will reach the top.

When it comes to our walk with Christ, how we end is more important than how we start.  [Matthew 25:1-13] records the parable of the ten virgins, five of which were wise and five of which were foolish. The foolish ones were ill prepared and although started at the same place with the wise ones (An oil filled lamp) they did not end in the same place as them.  Christ was not concerned that they had oil to begin with, or that they went out to buy oil upon His arrival at the end He said to them “…I tell you the truth, I don’t Know you” [Matthew 25:13]

Today we are still in the process, still in the race to the end. Each day we are given the opportunity to grow and learn many things. We may not get everything right now and we may fall many times, but we must remember everything we go through is a learning curve that will aid us to reach the end.

Therefore “Be strong and be courageous. Do not be afraid for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you." [Deuteronomy 31:6] He also promises “... surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” [Matthew 28:20]

[1 Corinthians 9:24-27] "Do you not know that in a race all runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.”

So today you might see me and I am not on top of my game, don’t write me off I have not crossed the finish line yet; I am in the race running in such a way that I will get the prize.
