Someone once said that God is willing
to speak to us more than we are willing to listen. Sometimes when we don’t hear
what we want to hear from God we doubt whether we are able to hear from Him.
[John 10:3-4] “The
gatekeeper opens the gate for Him, and the sheep listen to His voice. He calls
His own sheep by name and leads them out… and His sheep follow Him because they
know His voice”
Unless
a sheep is lost it is rare that you would find it away from its pen or away
from the shepherd’s care. A sheep follows the shepherd as he
directs; it doesn't decide that the direction the shepherd is
headed doesn't look promising and find its own way.
[John 11:43-44] “…
Jesus called out in a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come out’. The dead man came out,
his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen and a cloth around his face
Jesus said to them, "Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”
Christ
called Lazarus out of the grave where he had laid for four days; He doesn't enter
the grave to partake in death with Lazarus. We cannot remain in death (sin) and
expect to experience Christ as we ought to.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great
mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of
Jesus Christ from the dead and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil
or fade…” [1 Peter 1:3-4] All that we will need is in the resurrection of
Christ so whilst Christ will not partake in death with us, even in the grave He
calls out to us and like Lazarus we will still hear Him. When we come out and
we are bound He places a support system of people around us that will
"Take off our grave clothes”
“I have been
crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in
me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of
God, who loved me and gave himself for me”
[Galatians
2:20]
Today
by faith and the knowledge of the resurrection of Christ get to know God's voice listen to Him; when He
speaks be quick to obey Him [Psalm 119:60]. Even Death cannot stop
you from hearing His voice today be like the sheep and follow Him
regardless.
