Day 12: Visit to Victory women SHG table banking group

Today the team headed out to another table banking group the SHG Victory women...

Breakfast kicked off with Pastor P's bright blue socks

The bus ride

The women's group was located on the site of a primary school
We watched the banking group in action before we were introduced to the group...

Mario addressed the group

After the team was introduced, the leader of the group talked on how the group works how it was formed and then we headed out and spent some time with the kids before heading back to the center...

Mario played game of Aye-Aye Captain with the kids

Back at the center, we had having a relaxing time some went on a walk around the area and they came back with thorns ...

The team then spent the rest of the evening preparing for the Brainstorm and reflection tomorrow with the board of directors.

The following was extracted from one of the diaries of a cloverleaf missionary:
" Today was very nice, we are getting so close to the end and well everyone is starting to realise that in a couple of days we wont be in Kenya any more...
Mario's speech at the table banking group was very inspiring the people here must understand that money is not everything Jesus is everything. It was great to see the joy in the children today as we spent some time with them even though they all kept calling Suzy 'Sooo-sie" and apparently Mario means woman in Kimeru.
I am really looking forward to the reflection tommorow, there is much work that needs to be done and the early we set a plan out and commit it into God's hands the better."

Day 11: Training the table banking trainers...

Today we had a workshop for the table banking trainers which was lead by Uba, Fiona, Mario and Suzy. The workshop was broken down into different sections with different topics to focus on then group discussion in between.

Various discussion group...

After discussion the workshop continued with another topic....

Then there was a quick break before the session continued...

Different sub groups had to come up with characteristics of a good leader...

A group's example of what they thought made a good leader

A group sharing their ideas on the quality of a good leader

The workshop then carried on with the final session ...

The workshop ended with what a hierarchical structure should look like to this in nicely with leaders and vision.

The following was extracted from one of the diaries of a cloverleaf missionary...
" Today we got to be part of a new beginning, it was amazing to see the instant transformation of the table banking trainers. They were so open to learn new things and participated so well in the group events. We all are excited to see further changes in the trainers and carry on with the training even when we are no longer with them in Kenya.
So this evening we decided to teach Suzy how to play WHOT school edition and we all agreed that Fiona was a better player than Suzy.  We are slowly realising that we have few days left but we are all the more excited as to all we still have left to do. "

After a long day the team finally headed back to the center to prepare for training the table banking trainers workshop.

The following was extracted from one of the diaries of a Cloverleaf missionary...

" Today was very amazing... The church seemed to really enjoy Pastor P's message on the donkey tied to a little chair seemed like they were all at a place where they just do what they are told... It was great to see that when the people didn't have offering they sold the best of their harvest from the land there is never an excuse not to give!!!
The bread and tea was really nice even though Tope and her previous trauma of children soaking bread in tea didn't eat the bread... The Lunch at Mr Dickson's was very nice I had the best pineapples I have had in my LIFE!!! It was just too sweet... We got so many fruits from the farm and my personal favorites Avocado and Macedonia nuts. Mario and Suzy merge into the team so well they are just so good...The praise and worship in the van was nice even though we didn't get to perform at the church today."
